CAPITAL CITY CAMERA CLUB PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR SELECTION
This competition will be based on participation in the five competitions we will sponsor this year.
Preliminary rules (subject to modification as thoughts unfold) are as follows:
1. The Capital City Camera Club will name a Photographer of the
Year in 2 categories: B&W Print,
and Color Print. The CCCC will also name second and
third place winners in these categories, along with Honorable Mention
winners as participation permits.
2. This selection will be based on the results of all photography competitions and POM competitions.
3. Points will be awarded as follows.
A. Each entry placing 1st place will earn 10 points. Each entry placing 2nd will earn 7 points. Each entry placing 3rd will earn 5 points. Each entry earning an honorable mention will earn 3 points. Entries receiving a 9, but not placing, will receive 1 point. POM winners receive 1 point.
B. Rules regarding participation minimums for the earning of points by category of competition:
Minimum of three entries for a class to make. If there are fewer than 3 entries, fold class with another. (e.g. if there are fewer than 3 entries in the B&W class, then fold them into a combined Print Entry Class.)
If there are 3 to 5 entries, give first place award only.
6 to 8 entries, give first and second place awards only.
9 or more entries, give first, second, and third place awards only.
HMs are optional with the judge, but the maximum to be awarded is one for every 5 entries beyond 9 up to a maximum of 3 HMs.
4. Points will be tallied
and the winners will be announced at the annual fall banquet in December.
5. Winners will receive such prizes as the Club is able to find. Winners
will also submit winning work to the show sponsored by the CCCC at Sertoma
or elsewhere each year.
